Photography art Gallery Australians All exhibition now on|Photography Art Definition

Social documentary photographers Louise Whelan and John Immig have launched into a big task to document the a hundred and eighty migrant groups that name New South Wales (NSW) home. This assignment, which reflects the multi-cultural society this is Australia in the twenty first Century, is the brainchild of Alan Davies, Curator of Photography on the State Library of NSW.

Louise, who I interviewed for my feature on Sydney?S Head On competition within the June problem of Pro Photo, says of the project entitled ?Australians All? - "As I paintings in this mission and pass across the unique communities, I sense privileged to be within the presence of such variety. Through this series of images I?M sharing a glimpse of a large variety of unique cultural reports encompassing track, dance, visual arts, exceptional ingredients, historic crafts, ceremonies, circle of relatives food and regular happenings of the ethnic groups".

If you are in Sydney ?Australians All? Is on exhibition at The Fountain Court NSW Parliament House Macquarie Street Sydney until twenty seventh July.
