Kristian Laemmle-Ruff - MIND THE GAP
Since I first saw his work returned in 2014 inside the beautiful ebook, In the Folds of Hills, I've been partial to this younger Melbourne photographer, who continues pushing the bar. Last 12 months I featured a number of the photographs from this exhibition on Photojournalism Now, which on the time became displaying in Perth.
Now Mind the Gap is making its Melbourne debut next week at fortyfivedownstairs in the CBD.
Combining pictures, sound, text, documentary and installations, Mind the Gap is an fascinating exhibition as every of its additives come collectively to create a effective, complicated narrative that once stripped naked, is basically approximately our connection to the Earth, about our humanity.
Put Mind the Gap for your "don't leave out" list.

Diagram of the Heart - Glenna Gordon
American photographer Glenna Gordon drew concept from romance novels written by using Muslim girls in Northern Nigeria to create her monograph Diagram of the Heart, which became published closing year by way of Red Hook Editions.
These woman novelists don?T best write approximately love. Some cope with debatable issues together with child marriage and human trafficking. Others pen goals of escape and rescue.
The penning of romance novels seem an not likely pursuit in a rustic that is usually related to distress, struggle and dying. These pics inform a exceptional tale.
