This year there are 4 award categories with a total prize pool of $50,000. Categories: portrait, landscape, cell and students. The Awards are open to professional and emerging photographers, photojournalists and artists. Deadline is 28 February. Visit the internet site for extra info.

Michel Rawicki - Touched through the Cold

REFUGEE - Group Exhibition

REFUGEE features snap shots taken around the world by using five photographers: Martin Schoeller (USA 2016), Graciela Iturbide (Colombia 2105), Tom Stoddart (Europe 2105), Lynsey Addario (Myanmar 2015) and Omar Victor Diop (Cameroon, 2015). Current data from UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, says 60 million humans are displaced globally.

This exhibition "lets in audiences to interact with elements of the plight of refugees not formerly encountered, and to mirror on a full variety of refugee reports thru singular photographs. The compelling showcase gives traffic perception into the plight of refugees, which include their efforts to live on, their desires, their dreams and their hopes for a higher future".

This is My Country - A Book By Ingetje Tadros

Dutch photographer Ingetje Tadros has known as the far flung Western Australian metropolis of Broome home for the past twelve years. Over the past 4 years she has been documenting the Aboriginal communities around Broome, which is a vacationer mecca recognised for its pristine seashores, pricey accommodations and beautiful scenery.

But Ingetje has exposed another aspect to Broome, one the Western Australian government could choose to sweep under the rug. Tadros says she is appalled by means of the manner the Aboriginal human beings are dealt with through the community, and by the authorities. Many live in atrocious, squalid situations.

Working to gain the trust of elders and other community members Ingetje spent many visits just talking and getting to know the community before she picked up her camera. As her relationship with the community strengthened she began to document daily life - funerals, hunting, family fights, a wedding and intimate family moments. In the last seven months her focus has turned to a single community; Kennedy Hill, one of around 100 indigenous communities that are facing closure under the government’s new edict. Her powerful black and white images have gained international attention and won Tadros a prestigious Walkley journalism award.

Ingetje is running with FotoEvidence to supply a high fine e-book as a way to provide voice to the tales of the indigenous network in Broome, and wider reputation of the plight of the Australian Aboriginals. The Last and the Lost - The Brave Nomads of Iran

A century in the past there had been 5 million nomadic humans in Iran. Today they quantity only 1.5 million. While many are looking to assimilate into city environments and adapt to a sedentary lifestyles, others hold to guide a conventional nomadic lifestyle, but it is feared they may disappear as the authorities actions to stop their roaming.

Anastasia Rudenko:

Institutions for the Mentally Disabled in Russia

In this collection, Anastasia Rudenko, who won the Canon Female Photojournalist Award 2015 (supported by way of ELLE magazine) is pursuing the task she began in 2012, investigating life in establishments for mentally disabled humans in the Russian provinces. According to official data in 2013 there had been extra than 1,000 intellectual care centres for adults in Russia.
